10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD for Canon
Wide-angle Zoom Lens for ASP-C-format Canon EF-mount
The 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD Lens from Tamron is a wide-angle zoom lens designed for use with APS-C-format Canon EF-mount DSLRs, where it provides a 16-38.4mm equivalent focal length range. It features a Vibration Compensation (VC) system to minimise the appearance of camera shake by an effective 4 stops when shooting hand held.
The optical design includes one XLD (extra-low dispersion) element and one LD (low dispersion) element to control colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved image clarity and true colour. A molded glass aspherical element and a hybrid aspherical element are also featured to limit spherical aberrations, producing edge to edge sharpness. This combination is finished with a BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating to suppress ghosting and lens flare for improved contrast when working in backlit conditions.
A rounded seven-blade electromagnetic diaphragm contributes to pleasing out-of-focus 'bokeh' quality and more precise and consistent exposure control, especially when shooting at high continuous shooting rates. An HLD (High/Low torque modulated Drive) autofocus motor ensures autofocus is smooth, quiet, and quick, to suit both video and stills applications. This focusing drive also affords full-time manual focus override for fine-tuned control.
The lens is finished with a moisture-resistant physical construction, and it has a fluorine coating on the front element for protection against dust, dirt, and smudging. It is compatible with optional TAP-in Console for fine-tuning select focusing adjustments and for updating lens firmware.
