ColorEdge CX271 27" 16:9
Hardware Calibration IPS Monitor
The ColorEdge CX271 27" 16:9 from EIZO is an IPS Monitor featuring a built-in colour sensor to automate your calibration and ensure the monitor maintains your settings. The bundled ColorNavigator software makes calibration both simple and quick. Just input target values for brightness, white point, and gamma. The built-in sensor directly utilises the monitor's look-up table and creates an ICC profile within minutes. Even if the monitor is switched off or not connected to a computer, it will stick to its preset schedule and self-calibrate.
It reproduces 99% of the Adobe RGB colour space so images shot in RAW can be converted to Adobe RGB or images shot in Adobe RGB will be displayed correctly. The wide colour gamut also ensures that the monitor reproduces almost the entire ISO-coated and US web-coated CMYK colour spaces used in printing as well as 93% of the DCI used in post production. Using the DisplayPort input, the monitor offers 10-bit simultaneous colour display from a 16-bit look-up-table which means it can show more than one billion colour simultaneously. This is 64 times as many colours as you get with an 8-bit display which results in even smoother colour gradations and reduced Delta-E between two adjacent colours.
The EIZO CX271 offers a widescreen 2560 x 1440 LED backlit QHD IPS display complete with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a 6 ms gray-to-gray response time. DisplayPort, DVI-D, and HDMI inputs make it compatible with a variety of computer configurations. The DisplayPort and HDMI inputs support 1024 grayscale tones while the DVI input supports 256 grayscale tones to for enhanced image quality. Two USB upstream ports are also available, allowing two computers to be connected at once so it's not necessary to reconnect the USB cable when using the ColorNavigator software and switching between two computers.
Fluctuations in brightness and chromaticity on different parts of the screen are a common trait of LCD monitors. To counteract this, the ColorEdge CX271 is equipped with EIZO's patented Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) technology to ensure a Delta-E difference of 3 or less across the screen. DUE also counterbalances the influences that a fluctuating temperature may have on colour temperature and brightness. Within 7 minutes of the time you turn on your monitor the brightness, chromaticity, and tone characteristics will be stabilised and ready to use. Additionally, when the monitor is turned off via the power button on its front bezel, it consumes no electricity.
The CX271 comes with ColorNavigator 6 software to assist with the calibration of the display. The included software works in conjunction with the built-in sensor and utilises the monitor's look-up table to create an ICC profile within minutes. With ColorNavigator NX and ColorNavigator Network a single administrator can automate processes over multiple connected monitors. A versatile stand is also included, allowing for height, tilt and swivel adjustments as well as portrait display.
