Hardware Calibration IPS Monitor
The ColorEdge CG248 23.8" 16:9 from EIZO is an IPS Monitor featuring a built-in colour sensor to automate your calibration and ensure the monitor maintains your settings. Using either the on-screen display menu or the bundled ColorNavigator software, you can schedule the monitor to self-calibrate at specific times. A SelfCalibration sensor is housed within the monitor's top bezel and swings down onto the screen only when calibrating. This sensor eliminates the need for a third-party calibration device and works with EIZO's ColorNavigator 6 and ColorNavigator NX software.
It reproduces 99% of the Adobe RGB colour space, 98% of the DCI-P3 standard, and features preset modes for EBU, Rec. 709, SMPTE-C, and DCI. These presets can be easily switched via a button on the front of the monitor, ensuring the display is always set to suit the content being viewed on the screen. With the built-in calibration sensor, you can adjust or maintain the brightness setting for each preset. Additionally, the display features a 1,000:1 contrast ratio to produce true blacks that are otherwise difficult to display on a typical LCD monitor. When viewing the screen from an angle in a dimly lit room, dark tones typically appear washed out due to the display characteristics of LCD backlights. The CG Series is equipped with a retardation film which allows tones to retain their depth even when viewed from an angle.
Fluctuations in brightness and chromaticity on different parts of the screen are a common trait of LCD monitors. To counteract this, the ColorEdge CG2478 is equipped with EIZO's patented Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) technology to ensure a Delta-E difference of 3 or less across the screen. DUE also counterbalances the influences that a fluctuating temperature may have on colour temperature and brightness. This reduces the eye fatigue caused by viewing a flickering screen for long periods of time. Within just 3 minutes of the time you turn on your monitor the brightness, chromaticity, and tone characteristics will be stabilised and ready to use.
The CG248 comes with a shading hood that surrounds the top, left and right sides, to prevent ambient light from reflecting off the screen. A versatile stand is also included, allowing for height, tilt and swivel adjustments as well as portrait display.
