M10-R (Black Paint)
Limited Edition Digital Rangerfinder Camera
The limited edition Black Paint Leica M10-R features a lovely high glass finish that will patina over time and use. The red dot logo is omitted in favor of the class script and ERNST LEITZ WETZLAR engravings on the top plate. This is a sleek and minimalisitc digital rangefinder camera with high resolution added to the impressive still imaging capabilities and the quiet shutters of M-series cameras. The pairing of a 40MP full-frame CMOS sensor and Maestro II image processor enables the M10-R to capture high-resolution imagery with an extended dynamic range with marked colour saturation and contrast, as well as enhanced sensitivity from ISO 100-50000 that will suit working in a variety of lighting conditions. In addition, focus peaking is available to highlight edges of contrast for easier, more precise manual focus adjustment when working in live view. An integraded 2GB buffer affords recording of 4.5 fps bursts of up to 10 consecutive frames. Expanding beyond the established Leica applications of street and reportage shooting, the M10-R features an extended shutter speed range of up to 16 minutes-long (or 960 seconds-long) for making long exposures during night or other low lightlight photography, as well as landscape and nature photography. The increased resolution and longer exposure capabilities of the M10-R enable the use and accentuate the quality of the optically-exceptional Leica lens lineup.
Retaining the familiar slim body profile as other M10 film cameras, the M10-R features a large bright-line 0.73x-magnification optical viewfinder with automatic parallax compensation and bright frame lines, which allow greater ease and accuracy in composition and focusing. To aid visualisation of the scene of varying focal lengths, a viewfinder frame selector permits manual adjustments of the apparent image field using these available focal-length pair options: 35mm/135mm, 28mm/90mm, and 50mm/75mm. A dedicated ISO dial is incorporated on the top plate for fast sensitivity adjustment whether the camera is turned on or off and the rear 3.0" 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD features a Gorilla Glass cover to guard against scratching and light impacts. Built for long lasting use, the top and bottom plates of this sturdy camera are constructed from brass, while the chassis is built from magnesium alloy. In addition, an integrated Wi-Fi module in the M10-R enables wireless sharing and remote camera control from a linked mobile device via the Leica FOTOS app.
The M10-R features a top hot shoe that enables working with an external flash at a top sync speed of 1/180 second. Compatible with a whote line of M-mount lenses, the M10-R can also work with Leica-R-mount lenses via the use of an optional R to M adapter. This digital rangefinder comes supplied with a battery, battery charger, and a body cap.
