The AFS 300mm f/4 E ED VR lens from Nikon is designed for use with full-frame Nikon cameras. Combining a Phase Fresnel (PF) lens element with an Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass element, the lens is reduced in size and weight, and produces crisp images with virtually no chromatic aberration or ghosting. By adding a Nano Crystal Coat to the lens elements flare is also reduced, and a fluorine coat on the front element offers some protection from dust and cold, wet weather.
It features a fast Silent Wave Motor AF system and Vibration Reduction for an image stabilizing effect of 4.5 stops faster shutter speed. With a maximum aperture of f/4 and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm, it creates beautiful rounded background blur. It is also compatible with most Nikon teleconverters.
