The 50mm f/2.8 FE Mount Macro Lens from Sony is a normal-length prime lens with close-focusing capabilities designed for use with full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. It can also be used on APS-C models where it will provide a 75mm equivalent focal length. Offering a 1:1 maximum magnification, along with a 16 cm minimum focusing distance, it is ideal for making life-size imagery of close-up subjects.

Optically it features both an aspherical and an extra-low dispersion element, which work together to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations for sharp, clear imagery, and a rounded seven-blade diaphragm for attractive out of focus 'bokeh' areas. A dust and moisture-resistant design provides peace of mind when working in changeable weather conditions, and a range of controls such as a top-printed distance and magnification scale, focus range limiter, and focus hold button, make precise focusing adjustments possible. Use the focus range limiter switch to constrain the usable focus range between 6.3-11.8", 11.8"-infinity, or full.
