The ELC Pro HD 500 To Go Set with L-478DR-EL from Elinchrom and Sekonic is a versatile two-light kit that includes everything you need to create basic lighting setups with wireless control. As well as the two ELC Pro HD 500 lights and EL-Skyport Plus wireless transmitter, this kit also includes two 90° reflectors, two glass domes, one sync cable, and a durable storage bag for the whole kit. This version of the kit also includes the Sekonic L-478DR-EL light meter which incorporates the EL-Skyport functionality. It offers wireless triggering and full power control of all EL-Skyport enabled Elinchrom flash units.
The ELC Pro HD 500 features short recycling times coupled with fast flash durations to make freeze-motion, stop-action shooting possible. It recycles to full power in just 0.7 sec. with flash durations as short as an action-freezing 1/5,000 sec with up to 20 frames per second possible at minimum power. Power is continuously variable from 7 to 500W/s while the 300W proportional modelling lamp allows you to preview your settings before exposure. An intelligent low noise, temperature activated fan keeps the head cool and pre-flash detector lets you integrate your on-camera flash into your studio system.
Although this head accepts a PC cord, it also has a built-in EL-Skyport Receiver which is compatible with the included EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus for wireless remote triggering and power control from up to 200m away. This transmitter allows you to trigger and set flash power for up to four groups, as well as an all groups setting, and 16 different channels, which are split between eight normal channels and eight hi-speed channels. A locking metal accessory shoe connector allows you to secure the transmitter directly to a camera, a top hot shoe and a 2.5mm sync port are available for directly connecting an additional strobe, and a swivelling design helps to improve reception for more direct transmission. The EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus runs on easily sourced AA batteries.
Compatible with Elinchrom's EL-Skyport radio remote system, the included Sekonic L-478DR-EL ambient and flash light meter now allows you to control the power of Elinchrom flashes wirelessly. Using the meter, you can measure and adjust the flash power, switch the modelling lamp on/off and on some models also adjust the modelling lamp brightness. The flash control screen is intuitive and easy to navigate and use. Directly from the display, select and meter both single groups and all groups of lights, clearly showing the flash readings taken for each and with these, enabling the contrast range to be adjusted and the correct exposure set.
All this can be carried inside the ProTec Poly Bag, a robust shoulder bag with a detachable shoulder strap and a top grip handle. A top dual-zippered closure panel provides access to the main compartment, and two touch-fastened interior dividers keep your gear organised and protected. Two exterior zippered pockets are also featured and offer additional space for your accessories.
