The NiSi 100mm Sunset / Sunrise GND Special Edition Kit is designed to celebrate NiSi's second year in Australia and features two GND filters to use at sunrise and sunset. This kit is exclusive to Australia and New Zealand and is a very limited edition that will be available only for a short period of time. The kit includes the 100x150mm Medium GND16 4 Stop, 100x150mm Reverse GND16 4 Stop and a hard case. It features an image by NiSi Ambassador Daniel Tran on the box, and every kit also includes a limited edition booklet called “Be Inspired” featuring photos from NiSi's Australia and New Zealand Ambassadors.
The 100x150mm GND16 (1.2) Nano IR Reverse Soft Graduated Neutral Density Filter from NiSi is specially designed for landscape photographers. With a 1.2 density, it will provide a 4 stop reduction in light from entering the lens. It features a dark area on the centre of the filter and gradually gets clearer to the top, while the bottom part of the filter is completely clear, preventing overexposure of the skyline. This makes a reverse ND filter a good choice for sunrise and sunset photography.
The 100x150mm GND16 (1.2) Nano IR Medium Graduated Neutral Density Filter from NiSi is a rectangular filter that helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. With a 1.2 density, it will provide a 4 stop reduction in light from entering the lens. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a medium-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. This makes it particularly useful for images that feature buildings, mountains and other elements that protrude into the skyline.
Normally, when using a neutral density filter the camera is vulnerable to infrared light which can cause an unwanted red colour cast in images when shooting at small apertures. To prevent this, NiSi has added the infrared protection coating layer to this filter which helps to eliminate the infrared light through the lens to bring back the natural colour.
Made from high quality optical glass, these filters preserve every bit of detail and will not affect the colour of your image. They also features NiSi’s unique nano coating technology which reduces reflection on the surface of the filter to help with ghosting and flare. In addition, a protective layer makes it easy to wipe off water, dust, and oil from the filter without worrying about scratching your glass.
Each filter measures 100 x 150mm and is compatible with the Nisi 100mm filter holder or other 100mm Standard Filter Holder (Lee, Cokin or Formatt Hitech). The filter can be repositioned in the holder, allowing you to recompose the photo for the best result.
The NiSi Hard Case for 100x100mm or 100x150mm Filters Second Generation II is a high quality PU leather case for the NiSi 100mm system that can carry and store up to eight 100x100mm or 100x150mm filters. Inside the case, each of the eight filter slots contains an individual acrylic plate in each slot that can be removed to hold a 100x150mm filter, or left in place to hold a 100x100mm filter. The filter slots keep each individual filter safe and prevent them from scratching other filters in the case. It features a belt clip plus a clip to attach to a bag or similar.
