X-PRO2 + XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS Lens
Mirrorless Camera Kit
The X-Pro2 from Fujifilm is a mirrorless digital camera featuring a high-resolution 24.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS III sensor with randomised pixel array for impressive image quality without using an optical low-pass filter. Versus conventional pixel patterns, the X-Trans design more closely mimics the organic nature of film in order to produce nuanced colours and smooth tonal transitions, while also reducing moiré and aliasing. This sensor is paired with the redeveloped X-Processor Pro, making the X-Pro2 capable of recording stills at up to 8 fps and Full HD 1080p video at 60 fps. This combination also ensures you will enjoy fast focusing and overall performance, with expanded sensitivity up to ISO 51200.
The versatile autofocus system consists of 273 points and uses both phase and contrast-detection methods. The phase-detection system covers nearly 40% of the entire image frame with 77 points, which is beneficial to subject tracking and fast overall AF performance, while the majority of the frame is then covered by contrast-detection areas for accurate focusing from edge-to-edge. For refined manual focusing control, a Digital Split Image function simulates traditional rangefinder focusing, and Focus Peaking highlights lines of contrast in the scene to more objectively determine sharp focus.
Compose your images using the Advanced Hybrid Multi Viewfinder that blends both optical and electronic viewing methods into a single, switchable finder, giving you the best of both worlds in regard to clear viewing and the ability to preview exposure settings prior to shooting. Quickly change between viewing types via the dedicated finder switching lever on the front of the camera body. Alternatively, use the 3.0" 1.62m-dot rear LCD for image playback, live view shooting, and menu navigation.
This is complimented by a range of Film Simulation modes to give you even more creative control over the look and feel of your final images, by replicating the look of different film types. An interval timer is able to record up to 999 frames in a range of time spans, and a multiple exposure mode gives you the ability to overlay imagery in-camera. When working in this mode, subsequent exposures can be paired and the final appearance can be previewed on the LCD or in the EVF before making the final exposure. When you're shooting, built-in Wi-Fi lets you remotely control the camera from a smartphone or tablet, and then wirelessly share your finished images to mobile devices, or wirelessly send images to the optional instax SHARE Smartphone Printer for on-the-go printing.
All this is housed inside a robust, weather-sealed body with a range of physical controls and customisable function buttons for intuitive handling. Dual SD card slots allow for a more flexible and reliable means of storing imagery, and the first card slot is compatible with UHS-II standards for fast transfer speeds.
Here the X-PRO2 is paired with the Fujifilm XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS Lens is a wide-angle zoom that offers an equivalent 35mm focal length range of 15-36mm when used with Fujifilm APS-C mirrorless digital cameras. A constant maximum aperture of f/4 ensures consistent illumination throughout the zoom range and the Optical Image Stabilisation system helps to minimise the appearance of camera shake when working in low-light conditions with longer shutter speeds. Thanks to an internal focusing system and stepping AF motor focusing is smooth and quiet, making this lens a great choice for both still and video work.
Optically four aspherical and three extra-low dispersion elements help to reduce chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range for greater overall image clarity and sharpness. An HT-EBC multi-layer coating minimises flare for higher contrast and an additional coating has been applied to the rear side of the front-most lens element to further reduce ghosting.
A selectable macro focusing mode enables a close-up focusing distance of approximately 24 cm, and a seven-blade rounded diaphragm produces pleasing out-of-focus 'bokeh' to benefit working with selective focus and shallow depth of field. When used with an X-series camera that features a Lens Modulation Optimiser (LMO) function, the lens' performance is further enhanced to deliver consistent illumination and sharpness throughout the aperture range.
