EOS M50 + 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens
Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit
The EOS M50 from Canon is a versatile mirrorless digital camera well-suited to capturing both stills and video, featuring a 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 8 image processor. Together they provide a wide sensitivity range from ISO 100-25600, which can be extended to ISO 51200, up to 10 fps continuous shooting, and UHD 4K video recording at 23.98 fps, along with Full HD 1080p60 and HD 720p120 for slow motion capture. Dual Pixel CMOS AF with Eye Detection AF ensures fast and precise phase-detection autofocus, ideal for both stills and video capture. Digital IS 5-axis image stabilisation is also included to reduce the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting.
The camera features a high resolution 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a large 3.0" vari-angle touchscreen LCD with Touch and Drag AF for intuitive focusing point control. Also included is built-in Wi-Fi with NFC for wireless image sharing with a paired smartphone or tablet, and Bluetooth for image sharing to and remote camera control from a mobile device. And for additional illumination in low-light conditions, a built-in pop-up flash and hot shoe are included.
Here the M50 is kitted with the EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM Lens from Canon, a versatile 24-72mm equivalent focal length lens, covering wide-angle to short telephoto perspectives when used with APS-C-format EOS M-series mirrorless cameras. It features a retracting design, making it ideal for travel. A lead-screw-type STM stepping motor ensures focusing is fast and quiet, making it a great choice for both stills and video recording, and full-time manual focus operation is available for fine-tuned adjustments. An Optical Image Stabiliser is also featured, and works to compensate for up to 3.5 stops of camera shake, allowing you to shoot handheld with slower shutter speeds.
The optical design uses three aspherical elements; one glass-moulded and two precision moulded, to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range. Coatings have also been applied to control flare and ghosting for improved colour and contrast when working in difficult lighting conditions.
