The wide-angle Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH. Lens features a sophisticated nine elements in six groups design. The incorporation of a single aspherical element reduces distortions and spherical aberrations for increased sharpness and clarity throughout the focusing and aperture ranges. Furthermore, astigmatism is markedly reduced and edge-to edge sharpness is improved throughout the aperture range. Happily, the optical design of this lens provides for a high degree of sharpness despite the large aperture while also reducing lens flare and ghosting. The bright f/2 maximum aperture is beneficial for working in dimmer conditions. The manual focus design features a minimum focusing distance of 70cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:21.9. For photographers wanting to use optional filters, the front of the lens has 46mm-diameter threads. Last but not least, the lens is male threaded to attach the included lens hood. For Leica M shooters, this compact and versatile prime is ideal for capturing vast views without compromising quality in a variety of working conditions.
