The NiSi NC UV Filter II with 49mm Front Thread is a protective UV filter built specifically for the Fujifilm X100 series, from the original X100 through to the X100VI. It threads directly onto the camera in place of the factory trim ring, and its new 49mm front thread lets you mount standard screw-in filters on top, turning a simple protector into the foundation of a compact, genuinely useful filter system. Every X100 body shares the same fixed 23mm f/2 lens, and this filter is machined to match it exactly. Remove the decorative ring, thread the filter into its place, and the camera keeps the clean profile that makes the X100 such a pleasure to carry. Nothing protrudes, and nothing needs removing before it goes back in a bag. The headline change in this version is the 49mm thread cut into the front of the frame. Any standard 49mm filter now screws straight on, so a circular polarizer, a neutral density filter or a black mist can join the stack without adapters, step rings or extra bulk hanging off the front of a compact camera. Designed with precision industrial measurement, this macro-friendly construction provides dedicated space for the lens barrel to extend in close-focus and macro shooting. The result is smooth, unrestricted lens travel with zero mechanical interference, so you retain 100% of your lens’s native close-focusing performance. Capture extreme close-up detail with total confidence. No binding, no limitations, and no compromise.
Both faces of the optical glass carry a multi-layer low-reflection nano coating that passes 99.3% of incoming light. Reflections that would otherwise bounce between the filter and the lens are suppressed, which keeps flare and ghosting under control when you shoot into street lights, shop windows or a low sun. Color rendition stays neutral, so files still grade the way you expect. The X100’s lens is fixed, so damage to the front element is not something you can solve by swapping in another piece of glass. This filter takes the scratches, dust, sand and spray that any camera collects in daily use, and replacing it costs a small fraction of a lens repair or a trade-in. The outer surface adds a hydrophobic and oleophobic layer, so rain beads and rolls away instead of drying into spots, and fingerprints, sunscreen and sea spray lift off with a single pass of a microfiber cloth. It is a small detail, and it matters most on exactly the days you are out shooting. The original Fujifilm X100 Series lens cap still fits directly onto the filter, so there is no need to carry a substitute or leave the front of the camera exposed between shots. The filter fits into the way you already work rather than asking you to change anything about it.
Many protective solutions for the X100 need an adapter ring first, adding length, cost and one more component to lose. This filter is a single machined unit that threads directly onto the camera, so fitting it takes seconds and the finished result sits almost flush with the lens barrel. Fewer parts also means fewer surfaces for dust to settle between. The slim aluminum frame is anodized in silver to sit alongside the silver X100 bodies, and the same filter is offered in black for the black version of the camera. The low-profile edge keeps the camera’s silhouette intact and the engraving stays discreet rather than advertising itself. Whether you are working the street with an X100VI, traveling light with an X100V, or keeping an original X100 in service, the NiSi NC UV Filter II with 49mm Front Thread delivers permanent protection, genuinely clean optics and, for the first time in this range, a front thread that lets a fixed-lens compact grow into a full filter system.
