Announcing: 100th anniversary commemorative model of Skopar’s debut
has been released for the long-selling pancake-style wide-angle lens.
COLOR-SKOPAR 35mm F2.5 VM to be released
This COLOR-SKOPAR 35mm F2.5 VM is a model
commemorating the 100th anniversary of Voigtländer‘s
Skopar series. Based on the long-selling pancake-style
wide-angle lens, it features an elegant silver finish.
The origins of the optical system used in this product
can be traced back to the screw-mount COLORSKOPAR 35mm F2.5 C and P Type lenses, which were
released in 1999 for the film camera BESSA series. The
COLOR-SKOPAR 35mm F2.5 VM, which adopted the
VM mount following the BESSA series‘ transition to a
bayonet mount, is highly regarded not only for its
compact size but also for its excellent handling and mobility, making it a highly versatile everyday lens.
The optical system, which has been passed down through the centuries, delivers sharp clarity and rich
tonal range even when used with film cameras; however, when used with digital cameras equipped with
older-generation sensors that are no longer in production, color cast may appear at the edges of the
image frame.
COLOR-SKOPAR 35mm F2.5 VM Skopar 100th model combines compactness and light weight —with a
total length of 23mm from the mount and a body weight of 134g— with practicality. Furthermore, the
distance and aperture scale markings feature the distinctive font used in the Vintage Line products. In
addition, as accessories befitting this model, the lens comes with a metal lens shade with slits and a
rear cap, both finished in silver to match the body color. The beautiful, durable, metal bayonet-mount
lens shade not only dresses up the camera with a classic touch but also features a slit design that
minimizes vignetting when mounted on a rangefinder camera. The rear lens cap is a special metal design
constructed from three pieces. Made of aluminum, it combines a premium metallic finish, which satisfy
the desire to own, with lightweight portability
