The Noctivid 8x42 is a robust, compact, binocular designed to provide a versatile viewing solution. As part of the Noctivid family of binoculars, it brings together the best of the latest optical and mechanical technologies.

The Noctivid features 12 glass lens elements and SCHOTT HT™ (High Transmission) glasses ensure superb colour rendition. A new high-temperature plasma deposition process is used to ensure the lens coatings are of the highest-quality, guaranteeing perfectly balanced transmission characteristics throughout the entire wavelength range of visible light, to bring you a impressively bright viewing image. Baffle systems suppress stray light for a marked reduction in reflections and maximum contrast.

The modification of the radii of the lenses made it possible to achieve a further improvement of sharpness right up to the extreme edges of the viewing image. Innovative AquaDura® coating, a Leica development, ensures a crystal-clear view in all weathers and protects the lenses against scratching and abrasion. Thanks to this special coating, dirt and finger marks can be effortlessly wiped away.

These impressive optical and mechanical systems are complimented by the compact design and construction of the Noctivid. The binocular tubes can be easily held with one hand, with the weight centered on the palm. The rubber armoring provides a comfortable grip, absorbs impacts and prevents slipping. A patented, hardness class 8 surface coating provides additional protection for all exposed metal surfaces of the robust magnesium body. This selection of features is finished with a newly designed focusing wheel that enables tack-sharp focusing on even the smallest details.
