Telephoto Lens
The APO-Tele-Elmar-S 180mm f/3.5 from Leica is a telephoto lens with a bright maximum aperture, excellent for shooting portraits with a shallow depth of field. It uses an inner focusing system with a floating element, and special grades of glass and aspherical surfaces for consistently high image performance across the entire image field at all apertures. Vignetting, distortion and chromatic aberrations have been virtually eliminated. With a broad effective range of focus (minimum distance of 1.5 metres), it is possible to produce images at a 1:7 scale.
Equipped with Leica's very own microprocessor for precise autofocus and aperture control with silent gearing, the focus ring allows an override of the autofocus system at any time. The lens uses a S-bayonet mount for rapid and exact connection between the camera and lens.
