Ultra Wide-angle Zoom Lens for Sony E cameras

The Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 Di III-A RXD lens is designed to provide APS-C-format Sony E-mount cameras with an ultra-wide 35mm equivalent zoom range of 17 to 30mm in a lightweight and compact form. A complementary fast f/2.8 constant maximum aperture supports working in dimmer lighting conditions and affords increased control over depth of field. With a minimum focusing distance of 15cm at 11mm, the lens makes it possible to explore dynamic wide-angle macro imaging, which enables close objects to appear larger and distant objects seem smaller

Optically, a combination of one XLD (extra-low dispersion) element, two LD (low dispersion) elements, and two glass-moulded aspherical elements correct a variety of aberrations to a high degree for improved clarity and colour accuracy. An application of BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating to individual elements serves to suppress internal reflections, flare, and ghosting to improve contrast and colour fidelity when working in harsher lighting conditions.

Designed with Tamron's responsive RXD stepping motor unit, this zoom lens delivers quiet, fast, and precise autofocus performance that is compatible with Sony 's Fast Hybrid AF and Eye AF in enabled cameras as well as direct manual focus. With a rounded seven-blade diaphragm, the lens offers a pleasing bokeh quality. The lens's moisture-resistant construction benefits operation in inclement weather conditions and a fluorine coating on the front lens element protects the lens against dust, fingerprints, and smearing  Front and rear lens caps, and a petal-type lens hood are supplied with this lens.
