This Rapid Fixer from Ilford is a non-hardening liquid concentrate that should be diluted with water for fixing black and white film and paper in all manual and machine processing in the range of 18°C. The fixing processes secures your image on film or paper, and is generally preceded by a stop rinse, then followed by a wash. Washing will remove any traces of fixer which if left on the image may cause staining. At a 1+4 dilution, RC papers should be fixed for 1-2 minutes. Fiber based prints should be fixed for 1-2 minutes. Note that Ilford recommends gloves, eye protection, apron or overall be worn when handling and mixing all chemicals.
