Wide-angle Zoom Lens
An ultra wide zoom lens, the AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G ED from Nikon delivers rich imagery, with edge-to-edge sharpness and high contrast. Designed for use with FX-format DSLRs, it is also compatible with DX-format cameras where it will provide a 21-36mm equivalent focal length range. This range makes it perfect for capturing dramatic landscapes or working in tight interiors.
The optical design includes two Extra-low Dispersion (ED) elements and three aspherical elements to control chromatic and spherical aberrations, while Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coating improve light transmission and reduce ghosting and flare. This is complimented by a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture with nine blades, making this lens very capable in low light situations and creating attractive bokeh.
A Silent Wave Motor (SWM) and internal focus system provides fast and accurate autofocus with quiet operation, without changing the length of the lens. The lens is finished with a magnesium alloy body with dust and moisture resistant sealing for peace of mind when working in changeable conditions, and a built-in lens hood that offers a degree of protection to the front lens element.
