The AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR lens from Nikon is a versatile zoom lens designed for use with FX-format full-frame format DSLR's, and is also compatible with DX-format cameras where it will provide a 35mm equivalent focal length range of 36-127.5mm. This range of wide-angle to telephoto perspectives makes it a great travel lens, or for use in situations where you only want to carry one lens that can do it all.
Autofocus is fast and quiet thanks to a Silent Wave Motor and internal focus system, and a rounded 7-blade diaphragm produces smooth out of focus areas. Optically the lens uses three aspherical elements and one extra-low dispersion ED element to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range, while Nikon's Super Integrated Lens Coating works to control ghosting and lens flare. This is complimented by VR image stabilisation that provides up to 4 shutter speed stops of shake compensation for sharper hand held images, even in low light.
