An ultra-wide zoom lens, the AF-S NIKKOR 16-35mm f/4G ED VR from Nikon produces sharp, distortion-controlled images over a range of wide-angle focal lengths. Lightweight and durable, it is a versatile choice for photojournalism, landscape, interior, travel, and everyday applications. It offers an equivalent focal length range of 24-52.5mm when used with a DX-format DSLR. The fast f/4 aperture lets in plenty of light, and Vibration Reduction allows you to shoot at several stops slower than is otherwise possible, making this lens a formidable tool for low light photography.
The optical design uses 17 Nano Crystal coated lens elements in 12 groups, including 2 Extra-low Dispersion (ED) and 3 aspherical elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion, control internal reflections, and reduce flare and ghosting. A rounded nine blade diaphragm creates beautiful background blur, and a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) ensures fast, quiet and accurate autofocus. Alternatively, manual focus override allows for precise control as needed, even when working in AF mode. Internal Focus (IF) retains the length of lens and working distance throughout the focus range.
