Fisheye Lens

Designed for use with FX-format Nikon F-mount DSLRs, the AF-S Fisheye NIKKOR 8-15mm f/3.5-4.5E ED from Nikon is a creative fisheye zoom lens. It can also be used with DX models where it will provide a 12-22.5mm equivalent focal length range. The fisheye design at the wide end of the zoom range produces a circular field of view, which gradually covers the entire full frame by the long end of the focal length range.

The optical design uses two aspherical elements and three extra low-dispersion elements to control spherical and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range for improved sharpness, clarity, and accurate colour. Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coatings have also been applied to reduce flare and ghosting for improved contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. Finally, a flourine coating has been applied to the exposed elements to help protect the optical system.

An internal focusing design maintains the overall lens length during operation and contributes to a lighter overall weight and a Silent Wave Motor provides quick, quiet and smooth autofocus performance. Full-time manual focus override is also available for switching between AF and MF focusing systems, simply by turning the focus ring. This is benefitted by an electromagnetic diaphragm for greater exposure control stability when working with faster continuous shooting rates.
