Versatile zoom lens
The EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS from Canon is a versatile 28.8-320mm equivalent zoom lens with a wide-angle to telephoto range. Optically, two ultra-low dispersion elements combat colour fringing and chromatic aberrations, and two aspherical elements work to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations. A Super Spectra coating has also been applied to individual elements to control flare and ghosting, and a rounded six-blade diaphragm produces a creamy out of focus quality.
The lens also features a four-stop-effective Optical Image Stabilizer that works to minimise the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. This is ideal for working in low-light conditions and shooting with slower shutter speeds. This is complimented by a DC Micro Motor autofocus system that delivers quick focusing performance. A dedicated AF/MF switch allows you to quickly switch between auto and manual focusing, and a minimum focusing distance of 45cm is available for close-up shooting.
