The ColorEdge CG248 23.8" 4K Widescreen Monitor from EIZO is an IPS Monitor featuring a built-in colour sensor to automate your calibration and ensure the monitor maintains your settings. This sensor eliminates the need for a third-party calibration device and works with EIZO's ColorNavigator 6 and ColorNavigator NX software. With ColorNavigator Network software, an administrator can centralise management of all CG248-4K and other ColorEdge monitors on a network. For example the administrator can self-calibrate, set colour modes, register or edit asset management settings and other tasks whether the monitors are local or remote.
The monitor reproduces 99% of the Adobe RGB colour space and 98% of the DCI-P3 standard used in digital cinema. It also features preset modes for EBU, Rec. 709, and SMPTE-C. These presets can be easily switched via a button on the front of the monitor, ensuring the display is always set to suit the content being viewed on the screen. With the built-in calibration sensor, you can adjust or maintain the brightness setting for each preset. Additionally, the display features a 1,000:1 contrast ratio to produce true blacks that are otherwise difficult to display on a typical LCD monitor. Even when viewing the screen from an angle in a dimly-lit studio the dark tones retain their depth. Also, you can prioritise a high brightness and contrast ratio over the screen brightness uniformity by pressing a button on the front of the monitor.
The ColorEdge CG248 features a 3840 x 2160 resolution, surpassing the clarity offered by Full HD 1920 x 1080. It also offers a 14 ms response time, a brightness rating of 350 cd/m² and support for up to 1.07 billion colours. DisplayPort and HDMI inputs make it compatible with a variety of computer configurations, and whether mounting this VESA-compatible monitor to the wall or viewing it from the stand, you can see the display from nearly any point of view as it supports 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles. With a single cable, the DCI 4K resolution at 60 Hz is supported by both DisplayPort 1.2 inputs and at 30 Hz by both HDMI inputs.
Fluctuations in brightness and chromaticity on different parts of the screen are a common trait of LCD monitors. To counteract this, the ColorEdge CG248 is equipped with EIZO's patented Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) technology to ensure a Delta-E difference of 3 or less across the screen. DUE also counterbalances the influences that a fluctuating temperature may have on colour temperature and brightness. Within just 3 minutes of the time you turn on your monitor the brightness, chromaticity, and tone characteristics will be stabilised and ready to use. The CG248 also comes with a shading hood that surrounds the top and left and right sides, to prevent ambient light from reflecting off the screen.
