AF-S Nikkor 300mm F2.8G ED VRII
Telephoto Lens
The AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II from Nikon is an impressive telephoto lens that offers professional performance with a robust construction and sharp imaging capabilities. Compatible with both FX and DX format DSLRs, it is well-suited to capturing sports, wildlife, portraits, and any subject that requires a super telephoto focal length. A maximum aperture of f/2.8 benefits working in low-light conditions and offers shallow depth of field control, while a rounded 9-blade diaphragm produces pleasing out of focus areas. When used with a DX-format DSLR it provides a 35mm equivalent focal length of 450mm.
The lens features Nikon's VR II (Vibration Reduction) image stabilisation to allow handheld shooting at up to 3 shutter speeds slower than would otherwise be possible, and a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) to ensure fast and quiet autofocusing. Alongside M/A and M modes an A/M mode provides fast switching between auto and manual focus and AF Memory Recall allows instant return to a predetermined point of focus. The minimum focusing distance is 2.2 m in manual mode and 2.28 m in AF mode.
The optical construction uses three extra-low dispersion (ED) lens elements to control chromatic aberration even at the widest apertures, producing images with true colour and edge to edge sharpness. A Nano Crysal Coating and Super Integrated Coating on the lens elements further enhances light transmission and minimises lens flare and ghosting for even greater image clarity.
The lens is finished with a dust and moisture resistant magnesium die-cast barrel, and a protective meniscus front lens. The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens comes with a front lens cover, rear lens cap, 52mm dedicated filter holder, 52mm clear NC glass filter, HK-30 lens hood, lens strap, removable tripod collar and ballistic nylon semi-soft lens case.
