The APO-Summicron-M 75mm f/2 ASPH. from Leica is a versatile manual focus M-mount portrait-length lens that is well-suited to both portrait and reportage photography. Used on a digital M8 the focal length becomes 100mm making this a powerful telephoto. The bright f/2 maximum aperture makes it well-suited to working in low-light conditions and also affords greater control over depth of field.
The apochromatic design uses one fluorite element and one anomalous partial dispersion glass element to virtually eliminate chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for improved clarity and colour accuracy. The lens also employs a rear floating element to maintain image quality throughout the focusing range, even at the minimum focusing distance of 70cm. In addition to the apochromatic designation, the lens also pairs a double Gauss type optical construction with a high refractive glass aspherical element to significantly reduce distortion while also increasing overall sharpness and consistent illumination.
The Leica APO-Summicron-M 75mm f/2 ASPH. Lens comes with a E49 Lens Cap, Rear Lens Cap and Leather Case. It is finished with a built-in extendable lens hood to shield the front element.
