Versatile Wide-angle Lens
Designed to offer a versatile soltuion for ultra-wide photography with an M-mount rangefinder camera, the Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH. Lens with Universal Wide-Angle Viewfinder from Leica bundles the three-focal-length Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH. Lens with the Universal Wide Angle Viewfinder.
The Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH. is a versatile manual focus super-wide lens that offers three different focal lengths of 16mm, 18mm and 21mm. Quickly and easily switch between these these focal length positions with a twist. The lens is designed to reduce distortion and field curvature, making it well-suited to photographing interior and architectural subjects.
A minimum focusing distance of 50cm is maintained at all focal lengths, and a floating elements design is used to ensure consistent image quality even at close range. The optical design includes a pair of aspherical elements to control spherical aberrations and improve sharpness and clarity throughout the aperture range and at each focal length setting.
The Leica Universal Wide-angle Viewfinder M is a shoe-mounted external viewfinder for M-system rangefinder cameras (including M8) that offers bright-line frames to match the 16-18-21mm lens, and other wide angle lenses within this range. A parallax compensation dial allows for adjustment of the frame to the focusing distance, in five steps (0.5, 0.7, 1, 2 meter & infinity).
The viewfinder uses one aspherical lens element and one with achromatic correction to provide a bright, high resolution image. An illuminated spirit level helps to keep the camera horizontal, and the eyepiece has a screw mount for optionally available diopter correction lenses.
