The Samyang 35mm f/1.4 for Canon EF mount is a great wide angle lens on full frame or standard lens with a 56mm equivalent focal length on a crop sensor. This makes it well-suited to working in a variety of situations ranging from landscape to portraiture. It also offers a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture that makes it well-suited to working in low-light conditions and with shallow depth of field techniques. It is a fully manual lens with no auto-focusing.
It is completed with a high build quality composed from metal and plastic and aspherical lens elements. Two high refractive index elements and one aspherical element have been incorporated into the optical design to minimise chromatic aberrations in order to produce sharper images. A UMC coating has also been applied to lens elements to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for improved light transmission and more contrast-rich imagery.
