The AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4G from Nikon is a super-fast wide-angle lens. Perfect for a variety of applications including weddings, street photography or photojournalism, its maximum aperture of f/1.4 makes it well-suited to working in low-light conditions and with shallow depth-of-field techniques. Designed for use with FX-format Nikon DSLR cameras, it is also compatible with DX cameras, where it will provide a 52.5mm equivalent focal length.
The optical design uses 10 elements in 7 groups, with an aspherical element to reduce coma and other aberrations. It also features Nikon's Nano-Crystal Coat to minimise lens flare, and a rounded 9-blade aperture to produce smooth out of focus areas.
This is complimented by a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for quick, quiet and accurate autofocus. Its Rear Focusing (RF) system ensures that the front element won't rotate during focus. Two focus modes are available; M/A and M. M/A allows manual focus override for fine-tuned focusing control, while M is the full-time manual focus mode.
The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4G Lens comes with a 67mm Snap-on Lens Cap, Rear Lens Cap, HB-59 Bayonet Lens Hood and Soft Lens Case.
