Compact Telephoto Lens

Offering impressive speed and image quality in a compact body, the fast AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4D IF-ED is an ideal super-telephoto lens for sports, wildlife or travel applications. Designed for use with FX-format DSLRs, it will also work in DX-format where it will offer a 35mm equivalent focal length of 450mm.

The optical design features two extra-low dispersion optical glass elements to virtually eliminate secondary optical chromatic aberrations and Nikon's Super Integrated Lens Coating reduces flare and ghosting. A Silent Wave Motor (SWM) enables fast, quiet auto focusing with seamless manual override and the internal focus design maintains a compact, lightweight form, and prevents the front element from rotating.

The lens comes with a built-in lens hood to deflect unwanted light, a large focus ring and a detachable, rotatable tripod collar for stable, shake-free shooting. The lens also supports a manual aperture ring and is compatible with Nikon teleconverters for extended reach.
