The AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4D lens from Nikon is a standard length prime lens compatible with both FX and DX format Nikon DSLRs. Its 50mm focal length makes it well-suited to a variety of subjects, from full-length portraits to travel photography. With a maximum aperture of f/1.4 it is also ideal for working in low light and with selective focus techniques.

It delivers distortion-free, high-contrast images, and the optical elements feature Nikon's Super Integrated Multilayer Coating for improved light transmission and reduced ghosting and flare.

Manual control of the aperture makes smooth adjustments possible, even during Live View shooting. For more accurate exposure control the "D" lens subject distance information is transmitted from the lens to the camera body, providing 3D matrix metering and 3D multi-sensor balanced fill-flash with compatible Nikon cameras and speedlights. Please note that autofocus is not supported by D5300, D5200, D5100, D5000, D3300, D3200, D3100, D3000, D60, D40x and D40 cameras; the lens may be used with manual focus only.
