AF 28mm f/1.4D
Wide-angle Prime Lens
The Nikon AF 28 f/1.4D is a fast wide-angle lens that was produced in the 1990s for over a decade. This professional Nikkor lens features a robust built of mainly metal outer parts, a focus ring with smooth operation, and distance (D) information to the camera. The 11-elements-in-8-groups lens, including one aspherical element to reduce abberration, features a bright f/1.4 aperture, which suits working in a variety of lighting.
Aufocusing on this older lens relies on a slotted drive screw operated by a compatible camera which features a screw drive, and may be a little louder by more current standards. Thanks to the moderate weight of the optical system, the AF speed is quite fast. Internal focusing design of the lens maintains the length of the lens regardless of focus setting and keeps the front element from rotating.
