Designed for use with FX-format cameras, the AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G FX lens from Nikon provides a wide angle of view that is perfect for a variety of applications including weddings, street photography or photojournalism. The large f/1.8 maximum aperture lets in plenty of light for shooting in dim conditions, and in combination with a 7-blade diaphragm it creates smooth out of focus backgrounds. When used on a DX-format camera, the lens provides a 35mm focal length equivalence of 52.5mm.
The optical design features 11 elements in 8 groups including one aspherical and one ED lens. This is combined with Nikon's Super Integrated Coating (SIC) to reduce distortions, aberrations and lens flare, ensuring optimum image quality. For focusing, Nikon's Silent Wave Motor makes quick and quiet work of focus acquisition, with a minimum focusing distance of just 25 cm.
