The AF-S Nikkor 105mm f/1.4E ED lens from Nikon is a bright portrait-length lens designed for FX-format F-mount DSLRs, and can also be used on DX models, where it will provide a 157.5mm equivalent focal length. With a maximum aperture of f/1.4, it is ideally suited to working in low-light conditions and with shallow depth of field techniques. This, combined with the flattering 105mm focal length, makes it a great choice for portrait and event photographers.

The optical design ensures image clarity and sharpness by featuring three extra-low dispersion glass elements to minimise chromatic aberrations and colour fringing, while a Nano Crystal Coat has been applied to the lens elements to reduce flare and ghosting in strong lighting. An additional fluorine coating on exposed elements provides protection to the optical system, and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces attractive out of focus 'bokeh' areas.
