Leica
Q-P Black
Fixed Lens Compact Digital Camera
The Leica Q-P is a sleek digital camera featuring impressive imaging and optical attributes. The Q-P is an update to the original Q (Typ 116), given a more minimalist aesthetic update. The Q-P does not feature Leica's standard front red dot, and instead features the classic Leica script engraving on the top plate. It is also finished in matte black for an even more inconspicuous appearance. Finally, the Q-P has a redesigned shutter release and On/Off switch for improved responsiveness.
The camera uses a full-frame 24.2MP CMOS sensor along with a Maestro II image processor to record high-resolution stills and Full HD 1080p video at up to 60 fps with enhanced sensitivity from ISO 100-50000. This combination of sensor and processor also provides fast continuous shooting of 10 fps for up to 60 consecutive frames, and fast contrast-detection autofocus. Alternatively, if you are using manual focus, focus peaking and live view zoom options are available.
The Q-P has a built-in Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH. lens, which provides a versatile wide-angle field of view along with a fast maximum aperture to suit working in a variety of lighting conditions. Three aspherical elements are used in the optical layout to reduce spherical aberrations and control distortion.
In terms of the camera's physical design, it features both physical aperture and focusing rings for intuitive handling, and a dedicated Macro position on the focus ring lets you work with subjects as close as 17 cm away. A high-resolution 3.68MP LCOS electronic viewfinder for impressively bright, clear eye-level viewing and there is also a rear 3.0" 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD for intuitive playback and control. An integrated image stabilisation system helps to minimise the appearance of camera shake. Additionally, built-in Wi-Fi permits wireless sharing and remote camera control from a linked mobile device via the Leica FOTOS app.
