X100F - Black
Compact Digital Camera
A premium compact digital camera, the black X100F from Fujifilm maintains the popular body design found in previous models, while featuring a new series of advanced imaging capabilities for easy operability. Featuring a 24.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS III sensor and X-Processor Pro image processor, the X100F is capable of capturing high resolution stills, complimented with the omission of an optical low-pass filter. This combination also provides an expandable sensitivity range to ISO 51200, and quick performance speeds throughout the camera system, including an 8 fps continuous shooting rate, Full HD 1080p video recording at up to 60 fps, an AF speed of 0.08 seconds, 0.2 second shooting interval, 0.5 second startup time, and a 0.01 second shutter release lag.
In comparison to conventional pixel patterns, the X-Trans design more closely mimics the organic nature of film in order to produce nuanced colours and smooth tonal transitions, while also reducing moiré and aliasing. This is furthered by the inclusion of Fujifilm's Film Simulation Modes, which can be used for photos or videos, to imitate the look and feel of some of Fujifilm's classic film types.
A built-in Fujinon 23mm f/2 lens offers a 35mm equivalent focal length, for a versatile wide-angle perspective, great for everyday shooting. The optical design incorporates one aspherical glass element to reduce spherical aberrations for improved sharpness, while a Super EBC coating reduces lens flare and ghosting.
This is combined with an updated hybrid autofocus system that now uses 91 points, including 49 phase-detection points, for fast and accurate focusing. An Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder has also been added, capable of being switched between an optical viewfinder and an electronic viewfinder, with adjustable magnification for the electronic rangefinder function for more precise manual focus control. Simply use the dedicated OVF/EVF switching lever for fast transitioning between modes.
The body also includes a physical ISO dial within the shutter speed dial, and the exposure compensation dial now features a C position for an expanded +/-5 EV range. Added to the back of the camera alongside the rear 3.0" 1.04m-dot LCD monitor is a focus lever for faster focus point selection, and the majority of the physical controls, buttons, and dials have been moved to the right-hand side for easier one-handed use. It is finished with built-in Wi-Fi, allowing direct wireless file sharing as well as remote camera control from a linked mobile device.
