Versatile Wide to Short Telephoto Zoom Lens

The Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM is a fast and versatile standard zoom lens designed for use with full frame E-mount mirrorless digital cameras. It is also compatible with APS-C models, where it will provide a 36-105mm equivalent focal length range. Its wide-angle to short telephoto perspective, combined with a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, makes it a great choice in a variety of environments and lighting situations. Expect consistent performance throughout the zoom range, the ability to work in low-light conditions, and with selective focus techniques.

As part of Sony's G Master series, it is designed to produce outstanding high resolution images with a significant reduction in spherical and chromatic aberrations for notably sharp results. Optically it features three aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion elements. One of the aspherical elements features an XA (extreme aspherical) designation, for refined surface precision and to minimize spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range. A Nano AR Coating has also been applied to individual elements to significantly minimize lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and accurate colour, and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when working with shallow depth of field techniques.

Autofocus is fast and quiet, thanks to a Direct Drive SSM (Super Sonic wave Motor) system as well as responsive manual focus handling. The lens is also dust- and moisture-sealed, allowing you to keep working even in difficult weather. A focus hold button and rubbberized control dials complete this impressive combination, and offer more intuitive handling in cold weather.
