Designed for use with full-frame L-mount mirrorless cameras, the Lumix S PRO 70-200mm f/4 O.I.S. from Panasonic is a versatile lens covering a range of telephoto focal lengths, and featuring a constant f/4 maximum aperture for consistent results throughout the zoom range. It can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide a 105-300mm equivalent focal length range.
Optically, the lens uses one aspherical element and one ultra-high refractive index element to reduce distortions and spherical aberrations. There is also one ultra extra-low dispersion element and three extra-low dispersion elements that combat chromatic aberrations and colour fringing, helping you to capture sharp images with accurate colour. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces attractive out of focus areas.
It uses a unique double focus system that uses both a linear motor and a stepping motor for fast and accurate focusing performance. An Optical Image Stabilizer works to reduce the effects of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. It also supports the Dual I.S. and Dual I.S. 2.0 functions for increased stabilisation performance.
The lens is finished with a weather-sealed splash, dust, and freezeproof design for use in difficult conditions down to -24°C. A removable rotating tripod collar is also included which is useful when working with the lens atop a tripod or monopod.
