Batis 135mm f/2.8
Telephoto Prime for Sony E-mount Cameras
Designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, the Zeiss Batis 135mm f/2.8 mid-length telephoto prime combines advance optics and contemporary performance. When used with APS-C models, it provides a 202.5mm equivalent focal length. With a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture, the lens suits working in difficult lighting conditions as well as provides improved control over depth of field for working with selective focus techniques.
The Batis 135mm f/2.8 is features a Sonnar optical concept and an apochromatic optical design, which employs use of eight anomalous partial dispersion elements for eliminating chromatic aberrations and colour fringing, to achieve high quality imagery of clarity, marked sharpness, well-controlled flare, colour fidelity, and high contrast. In addition, the utilisation of a floating elements system provides for consistent sharpness and illumination throughout the entire focusing range from 87cm to infinity, while the ZEISS T* anti-reflective coating on each of the lens surface minimises ghosting and lens flare to provide greater contrast and colour fidelity when working in harsh lighting.
A unique feature of Batis-series lenses is the incorporation of an OLED display on the lens barrel, which highlights depth of field range and focus distance to support speedy recognition of focus parameters in use in dim lighting. The imaging performance is complemented by smooth, fast and silent autofocusing that is delivered by linear motors. Furthermore, the lens features optical image stabilisation to reduce appearance of camera shake, benefitting handheld shooting and working with slower shutter speeds. A dust- and weather-sealed construction benefits shooting in trying conditions.
