Wide-angle Prime Lens for Micro Four Thirds
The Leica DG Summilux 12mm f/1.4 ASPH. lens from Panasonic is a wide-angle prime lens with a 24mm equivalent focal length, designed for use with Micro Four Thirds digital cameras. With a bright maximum aperture of f/1.4, it is well-suited to working in low-light conditions and with shallow depth of field techniques. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces attractive out of focus 'bokeh' areas.
The optical design features a pair of aspherical elements, two ultra extra-low dispersion elements, and one extra-low dispersion element. This combination comes together to control spherical and chromatic aberrations to produce images with true colour that are sharp and clear from edge to edge.
A smooth and quiet autofocus motor makes it possible to use this lens for both stills and video recording, while a manual AF/MF switch and manual aperture ring give you intuitive and tactile control. This is complimented by a durable all-metal construction that is weather resistant when paired with Lumix Micro Four Thirds cameras.
