Full-frame lens for Leica SL Series

The Summilux-SL 50mm f/1.4 ASPH. lens from Leica is the first prime lens designed for use with their full-frame SL-series. Designed to deliver outstanding optical performance with edge-to-edge sharpness even at the large maximum aperture of f/1.4, it is an ideal choice for use in low-light conditions and for working with shallow depth of field techniques.

The combination of its resolving power and soft out-of-focus bokeh clearly isolates your subject. Thanks to uniform contrast rendition throughout the focusing range, this applies at all distance settings. With its internal focusing design, the overall length of the lens remains unchanged when focusing.

The optical design contains a total of 11 elements, two of which are aspherical and four anomalous partial dispersion, to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations for increased image sharpness and clarity. An additional multi-layer coating helps prevent flare and ghosting. A dust- and moisture-resistant design offer peace of mind when working in changeable conditions.
