Fujifilm
XF 23mm f/1.4 R
Wide-angle prime lens
The XF 23mm f/1.4 R lens from Fujifilm is a wide-angle prime lens optimised for use with X-series mirrorless cameras using APS-C sensors where it offers a versatile 35mm equivalent perspective, ideal in a variety of shooting situations and favoured for street photography. This is complimented by a fast maximum aperture of f/1.4 that makes it possible to work in difficult lighting conditions and with shallow depth of field for selective focus techniques. A rounded seven-blade diaphragm produces smooth out of focus 'bokeh' areas.
Optically one aspherical element and High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating (HT-EBC) work together to minimise chromatic aberrations and produce images with a high degree of sharpness. This HT-EBC coating also works to protect the front lens surface as well as reduce lens flare and ghosting.
An internal focusing mechanism uses one group of three cemented elements and one aspherical element to lessen the overall weight and maintain the lens' length. This group is driven by a high-torque DC coreless motor for quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance.
Engraved camera-to-subject and depth of field scales on the barrel benefit manual focus control for setting the hyperfocal distance and pre-focusing techniques. Close-up focusing control permits a minimum focusing distance of 28 cm, or when working in normal position, a minimum focusing distance of 0.6 m is possible.
