16mp Micro Four Thirds Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit
The black Lumix DMC-G7 is a hybrid mirrorless digital camera with advanced still and 4K UHD video capabilities. With a 16 MP Live MOS Micro Four Thirds sensor and Venus Engine 9 image processor, the G7 features low-light sensitivity to ISO 25600, continuous shooting at up to 8 fps with single-shot AF, as well as a trio of 30 fps shooting rates based on the 4K UHD video recording. Built-in HDR, Panorama, Photo Style and Creative Control modes offer even more control over your final image.
Alongside the fast burst shooting modes is a DFD (Depth-From-Defocus) autofocus system that ensures rapid focusing speeds for accurate subject tracking and consistently sharp imagery even in low-light conditions down to -4 EV. This contrast-detection type focus method benefits both still and video recording modes, as well as subject tracking applications where subject colour, size, and motion vectors are used to intelligently lock-onto the moving subjects and ensure precise focus. Alternatively, when working with manual focus, focus peaking is available that highlights bright edges of contrast with a coloured outline for quickly recognising your focus point, as well as depth of field distances.
Record 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) video with either 30p or 24p frames rates at 100Mbps in the MP4 format. Full HD 1080p/60 is also supported, in both MP4 and AVCHD formats, as well as HD and SD resolutions. A built-in stereo microphone can be used during recordings, and features an integrated wind-cut filter, or an optional external microphone can be added via the 3.5mm jack.
All this is complimented by a modern body with physical dials to control exposure, six customisable function buttons, a high-resolution EVF and 3.0" tilting touchscreen LCD. Wi-Fi is also built-in to allow for wireless sharing and remote camera control using the Panasonic Image App.
Included with the G7 is the Lumix G Vario 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II ASPH. Mega O.I.S. lens and matt black Lumix G Vario 45-150mm f/4-5.6 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. lens from Panasonic.
The Lumix G Vario 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II ASPH. Mega O.I.S. lens is a versatile standard zoom lens with a 28-84mm equivalent focal length range, for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. This wide-angle to short telephoto focal length range makes it a great choice for use in a wide variety of situations.
The lens construction features a pair of aspherical elements that work to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range and also contribute to a more compact, lighter-weight design. When working with shallow depth of field techniques, a rounded seven-blade diaphragm produces smooth out of focus areas. This is complimented by MEGA O.I.S (Optical Image Stabilisation) to minimise the appearance of camera shake when shooting handheld. This system is also compatible with Lumix cameras featuring the Dual I.S. feature that pairs in-body and lens-based stabilisation methods.
The matt black Lumix G Vario 45-150mm f/4-5.6 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. Lens features a 90-300mm equivalent focal range to cover everything from portrait to telephoto. MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) compensates for camera shake for sharper handheld shooting, and one UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) element with two aspherical elements reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions for edge-to-edge sharpness and illumination. Multi-coatings have also been applied to individual elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and accurate colour, and a rounded seven-blade diaphragm produces smooth bokeh when working with shallow depth of field.
A stepping motor ensures autofocus is fast and near-silent, making it ideal for both stills and movie shooting. An inner focusing design maintains the overall lens length during operation and further benefits focusing speeds. The AF system is also compatible with Lumix cameras' high-speed contrast-detection systems.
