X-T20 Black Body + XF 56mm f/1.2 R APD Lens Kit
Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit
A familiar design comes together with a host of enhancements in the black X-T20 from Fujifilm. A mirrorless digital camera designed for multimedia shooters, it features a 24.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS III sensor and X-Processor Pro image processor. This combination makes it possible to record impressively sharp still images, complimented by the omission of an optical low-pass filter. It also provides an extended sensitivity range to ISO 51200, a 14 fps continuous shooting rate when working with the electronic shutter, and the ability to record UHD 4K or Full HD 1080p video. Video can also be output via HDMI to an external recorder or monitor, and a mic jack is featured for working with an external microphone.
In comparison to conventional pixel patterns, the X-Trans design more closely mimics the organic nature of film in order to produce nuanced colours and smooth tonal transitions, while also reducing moiré and aliasing. This is furthered by the inclusion of Fujifilm's Film Simulation Modes, which can be used for photos or videos, to imitate the look and feel of some of Fujifilm's classic film types.
The X-T20 also features a 91-Point Autofocus System. Using both contrast and phase-detection methods, the continuous autofocus performance has been optimised for improved tracking and accuracy, ideal for working with moving subjects. An Advanced SR Auto mode allows fully automated shooting with intelligent scene recognition for easy capture in a variety of settings.
An Interval Timer makes it possible to record with 1 second to 24 hour intervals, and a Multiple Exposure mode lets you shoot two consecutive overlaid frames, with the first frame shown on the rear LCD to help you align your second exposure. It is also possible to capture in-camera 180° panoramas simply by panning the camera about the scene.
All this is housed inside a classic body design, featuring a tilting 3.0" 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD and 2.36m-dot electronic viewfinder. Use the LCD touchscreen for intuitive operation, focus point selection and menu navigation, while its tilting design allows you to work comfortably from high and low angles. Alternatively, the high-resolution electronic viewfinder provides bright, clear monitoring with a frame rate of 54.54 fps.
Dedicated shutter speed, drive mode, and exposure compensation dials provide intuitive control over exposure and shooting settings, while the physical exposure compensation dial now features a C position for an expanded +/- 5 EV range. For additional illumination a pop-up flash is built-in, and a hot shoe allows an optional external flash to be attached. Built-in Wi-Fi rounds out this feature set, allowing direct wireless file sharing as well as remote camera control from a linked mobile device.
Here the X-T20 is kitted with the Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R APD Lens. A short telephoto-length prime lens, it provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 85mm, making it ideal for portraiture and other applications where a slightly longer-than-normal perspective and flattening appearance is desired. A fast maximum aperture of f/1.2 and APD (apodizing) filter come together to produce sharp main subjects and even smoother bokeh, giving your photographs an overall three-dimensional quality. This effect is furthered by seven rounded diaphragm blades, to produce circular out-of-focus highlights.
Optically the 56mm APD features 11 elements in 8 groups and includes one aspherical element, two extra-low dispersion elements, and three cemented elements, for a marked reduction in chromatic aberrations, distortions, and colour fringing throughout the aperture range. An HT-EBC multi-layer coating has also been applied to elements to minimise surface reflections, flare, and ghosting.
When used with an X-series camera that features a Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO) function, the lens' performance is enhanced to deliver consistent illumination and sharpness throughout the aperture range.
