OM-1(Black)
Micro Four Thirds Body
The OM System OM-1 is Olympus's flagship, built-for-adventure mirrorless camera that delivers both fast and agile performance when shooting stills, as well as quality 4K video recording in a durable physical design.
Featuring a newly designed 20.4MP Micro Four Thirds Live MOS sensor with a stacked BSI design. the OM-1 offers improved readout speeds, 2-stop lower noise levels, and a 1-stop greater dynamic range for improved image quality, especially at higher ISOs, when compared to previous designs. The new TruePix processor compliments with 3-times faster processing speeds and a 120 fps sensor readout rate for a faster and responsive shooting. In addition, the processor contributes to a wide ISO range of 200-102400 that can be expanded down to ISO 80, continuous shooting of up to 10fps with full-time AF/AE and a buffer of 169 raw frames with a mechanical shutter or a 20fps shooting with full-fime AF/AE and a buffer of 108 raw frames with a silent electronic shutter.
The OM-1 offers various shooting modes to support you in capturing the moments in front of you. Pro Capture mode can be activated to capture up to 70 additional frames between the shutter button being half-pressed and when it is fully pressed, thus serving as a safeguard against missing any action that may have occurred just before the shutter button can be fully pressed; A range of creative shooting modes, including High Res Shot modes that composite a series of 12 shots into a single higher resolution frame in five seconds (Tripod High Res Shot mode produces an 80MP raw file; Handheld High Res Shot mode produces a 50MP raw file), Live ND that simulates the effects of an optical neutral density filter for long exposure / slow shutter speed effects, Live Composite that suites long exposures, nighttime shooting, and light painting applications, and Focus Stacking that composites 15 automatically recorded sequential frames, each in a slightly shifted plane of focus, into a single image that exhibits depth of field.
A built-in 5-axis image stabilisation (IS) and a unique on-sensor Cross-Quad Pixel AF and AI Detection design contribute to shooting high quality images when shooting in various conditions. The in-body IS is an advanced sensor-shoft system compensating up to 7 stops of camera shake with the body alone; the use of select IS-enabled lenses with the OM-1 affords an additional stop to provide a total of 8 stops of camera shake. The IS allows the use of significantly longer shutter speeds when shooting hand held, supports Handheld Assist that is particularly helpful for working with longer focal length lenses, and contributes to the High Res Shot modes, Handheld Live Composites, and an advanced dust reduction system. Delivering impressive focusing performance, the Cross Quad Pixel AF structure effectively splits each pixel into four sub-pixels for cross-sensor performance that improves focusing in tricky lighting conditions. This focusing system features 1053 individual points that covers the sensor fully and performs at up to 120 fps to suit most recording methods. With the greater details it affords, OM-1's AI can automatically detect a wide variety of subjects from all cars, motorcyles and trains, to humans and animals, as well as faces and eyes. Improved processing means focusing performance is twice as accurate and thrice as fast as earlier iterations of this focusing system.
The OM-1 supports up to DCI/UHD 4K video recording at up to 60p and 10-bit 4:2:0 sampling. For slow-motion playback, full HD recording is possible at rates up to 240 fps. A HLG picture mode is available for in-camera HDR recording while an OM-Log gamma permits a greater colour grading range for post-production editiing. In-camera time-laps production of up to UHD 4K at 5 fps to 30 fps is possible. An integrated micro-HDMI port enables the use of an optional compatiable recorder for recording 12-bit raw output. Greater audio recording control and quality are also possible thanks to the integrated 3.5mm microphone and headphone ports.
Built for adventure with readiness for use in mind, the magnesium alloy camera body is durable, lightweight and weather-sealed for use anytime and anywhere. It features a durable shutter design rated for 400,000 shutter actuations and sports a large 3.0" 1.62m-dot touchscreen LCD, which features a a 270° vari-angle design to enable working from a range of angles as well as taking selfies. Alternatively, a 5.76m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder provides for a bright and clear eye-level viewing. The dual SD memory card slots are UHS-II compatible to support fast read/write speeds, while built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow wireless image sharing and remote camera control from a connected tablet or smartphone via the dedicated O.I.Share app for iOS and Android. A new BLX-1 lithium-ion battery provides up to 520 shots on each full charge. The battery can be conveniently charged in-body via the USB type C port, and the camera itself can be powered using a USB-connected power bank.
The OM-1 comes supplied with a rechargeable battery, a CB-USB13 USB connection cable, a F-7AC USB-AC adapter, eyecup, cable clip, cable protector, a shoulder strap, and a FL-LM3 flash.
