6-Input/14-track Multitrack Field Recorder

The Zoom F6 is an ultra-compact, mulitrack field recorder with 32-bit float technology that combines with dual A/D converters to provide the uncanny ability to capture an impressive dynamic range at full audio quality, eliminating the need for digital clipping. With a slew of recording modes and resolutions to choose from, including 14-track simultaneous recordings that comprise of six inputs recorded in 24-bit and 32-bit float, plus a stereo mix, this field recorder will suit professional and enthusiast applications, whether on location or on set. Of note is the Ambisonic mode which uses up to four channels to capture sound files for virtual reality and 360-audio projects, leaving two channels to spare for traditional mics. Naturally, the F6 can accomodate all kinds of condenser microphones as well as balanced line-level signals, thanks to its six lockimg Neutrik 3-pin XLR inputs. Additionally, this professional recorder features six studio-quality microphone preamps that boasts massive gain of up to 75 dB and ultra-low noise at -127 dBu EIN to ensure your sound sources are amplified with accuracy. To simplify your work, Zoom's AutoMix function automatically adjusts the levels of your mix to reduce the amount of ambient sound. You can choose to turn this function on or off for each channel.

The versatile F6 can also be used as a 6-in/4-out USD 2.0 USB audio interface at up to 24-bit/ 96 kHz. Simply connect it to your computer with your preferred audio recording program launched, and enjoy the perks of combining the performance of F6's premium mic preamps and A/D converters and the ease of using a familiar favourite program. For using the F6 as a field mixer, simply connect its 3.5mm stereo line output into your camera, DSLR, mixer, or secondary recorder for the audio mix to be fed through the unbalanced line, ready for recording.

Built to go places in a sound bag, slung over shoulder, or mounted on a camera, the F6 boasts a rugged frame to pack in the quantity and quality of features. Portability of this recorder is maximised by recording directly to a separately available SD/SDHC/SDXC card for up to 512GB of storage space. Various powering methods are available to keep the F6 operating for hours on end, including use of 4 x AA batteries, a Sony L-series type battery, powering via a USB Type C connection, or plug into a wall outlet with a separately available adapter. The handy USB Type-C port also permits connection to a computer for file backup or live audio streaming. Other physical features include a 1.54" informative full colour backlit LCD display, which also offers a monochromatic mode, handy transport controls and navigation buttons for sound bag friendly, hassle-free operations, and precision timecode functionality that permits accurate synchronisation. For organising and cataloging your files for efficient postproduction and easy collaboration, you can add metadata such as notes and track/scene names in BWF and iXML formats.

A camera-mount adapter, as well as download codes for Cubase LE and Wavelab LE are included with your F6.
