Wide-angle Lens
The Summarit-S 35mm f/2.5 ASPH from Leica is a classic wide-angle lens. With a broad effective range of focus (minimum distance of 55cm), it is possible to produce unusual and attractive compositions. It uses an inner focusing system with a floating element, and special grades of glass alongside two aspherical lenses for consistently high image performance across the entire image field at all apertures. Vignetting, distortion and chromatic aberrations have been virtually eliminated.
Equipped with Leica's very own microprocessor for precise autofocus and aperture control with silent gearing, the focus ring allows an override of the autofocus system at any time. The lens is produced to extremely narrow tolerances, with each lens centred by hand, guaranteeing superior quality and optical performance. It uses a S-bayonet mount for rapid and exact connection between the camera and lens.
