The Summicron-S 100mm f/2 ASPH Lens from Leica is a portrait-length prime dedicated to the Leica S-Series of medium-format digital cameras, equivalent to an 80mm lens in the 35mm format, making it well-suited to a variety of applications. With a fast maximum aperture of f/2 it offers selective focus control and excells in low-light. The longer than standard focal length of this lens adds to this separation of subject from background, while providing a natural perspective.
It features low dispersion elements, as well as one double aspherical element, to reduce chromatic aberrations and improve image clarity and contrast. An inner focusing mechanism and a floating element design further benefit its close-range imaging capabilities. With a metal barrel, this lens is dust- and weather-resistant.
