The medium format Leica S2 is the ultimate convergence of image quality and ergonomics, combining no-frills handling with world class technology. At the core of the S2 is its enormous 45×30mm CCD sensor. Its size assures beautiful, creamy backgrounds, while its ISO range of 100 to 1600 means you can do everything from shooting wide-open on a sunny day to working in dim, poorly lit environments.

A good sensor deserves a good processor, and the Leica delivers with its Maestro image processor. Together with its 2GB of memory, this processor delivers beautiful, noise-free images, and has enough capacity to buffer up to 14 DNG images during burst shooting, while JPEG shooting is limited only by your memory card.

The handling of the S2 is thoroughly intuitive. With a body similar to 35mm DSLRs, it is much more comfortable and balanced than traditional medium format systems, while its interface has been designed to get the job done as quickly and easily as possible.

A camera is nothing without a lens, and the S2 system has a selection of fast lenses in a variety of focal lengths. These lenses have been designed to deliver maxium contrast and sharpness with the S2 body, and feature advanced design with aspherical, anomalous partial dispersion, and high refractive index elements to control aberrations. Finally, all of the S2 system lenses can be had with a central shutter, which will allow you to sync flashes to its maximum speed 1/1000th of a second.

For an enhanced more ergnomic shooting experience, as well as an extended shooting period, the Multi-Function Handgrip for the S-Camera from Leica does two things; firstly, it facilitates an extra battery to double the S2's battery life and, secondly, improves handling during vertical shooting. For the latter, it features a vertical shutter release and a click wheel, so that the camera's primary controls are always close at hand. The grip features an easily accessible on/off switch and both 1/4 x 20 and 3/8 mounts for tripod shooters. In addition, Leica has a built-in anti-twist system to hold the camera steady while working.

The additional high-capacity Leica rechargeable battery for Leica S-System cameras including the Leica S2, is ideal for backup power as well as use  the aforementioned multi-function handgrip. Lithium technology ensures long lasting battery life and maximum power. It also features a 'no memory effect' that lets you recharge partially drained batteries without reducing performance.

The Leica SF 58 is a flash unit compatible with the Leica M, R, and S camera systems and offers the TTL, auto, manual, and stroboscopic flash modes to meet your flash lighting requirements. Its wide angle to telephoto zoom range of 24-105 mm can be further extended for another 18mm via an integrated wide angle diffuser. This powerful and versatile flash offers features to support your creativity - sensitive control options to allow subtle lighting, reflector technology to diversify lighting and capture movement, and a full capacity that can effectively lit the night sky. The high-performance energy management provides for high speed and constant flash photography while an overheating protection function kicks in when necessary by regulating the flash frequency. Updates to the firmware for more advanced cameras can installed through the USB port.
