The MH057A5 Virtual Reality and Panoramic Head (Sliding) from Manfrotto is an ideal tool for creating panoramic images. By keeping the nodal point of your camera/lens in line with the centre of panoramic rotation, it allows you to take sequential constant-angle shots around a single axis, either in portrait or landscape orientation. This means that parallax effects won't be an issue during image stitching.
The head uses the 300N panoramic unit which features sliding horizontal and vertical plates for accurate positioning of the camera nodal point. Both plates have engraved index rules for repositioning. An included quick release elbow bracket allows the camera to be used in portrait orientation. This system can be used with most 35mm and digital cameras using wide-angle or standard lenses.
