This Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD is a wide-angle to super-telephoto zoom lens designated for full-frame Sony E-Mount mirrorless cameras; when used with APS-C models, this lens provides a 42-300mm equivalent focal length range. Its bright f/2.8 at the wide end of the zoom suits working in dimmer conditions. This sleek and portable lens is complemented by an 18-elements-in-14-groups optical design consisting of a series of specialised elements that controls a variety of aberrations to provide sharp and clear imagery throughout the zoom range. Beneficial to the optical design is its RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor, which provides for quick, quiet autofocus performance that will suit both stills and video applications. A full-time manual focus is available for fine-tuned focusing, and a minimum focus distance of 19.05cm means you can capture subjects close up. The lens features a moisture-resistant construction as well as a flourine-coated front element to protect it against smudges and fingerprints. A rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh effect.
